18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace,
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household,
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets.
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; There is one body and one Spirit-- just as you were called to one hope when you were called--
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ; You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: "In your anger do not sin" : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 Neither give place to the devil. and do not give the devil a foothold.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. Therefore do not be partners with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church--
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. for we are members of his body.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
